Get busy girl!!

Okay, here are the fabrics for all the projects I need to complete this week. Should be interesting because my son will still be at home on winter break. I think the Wii will come in handy.
I'll start the description clockwise from the top. The pink assorted fabrics and t-shirt are for a Crafster swap, "Transform a T-shirt". The next fabrics are for a sleeping bag for another Craftster swap "Pullip Winter swap". The next pile is for the same swap, Pullip clothing and a cape, that's red velvet which will make a lovely cape! Then at the bottom of the picture is fabric to make me a new purse, since I am still carrying my Rudolph bag...The two floral quilted fabrics and linings are for 2 purse orders, very Vera Bradley-ish. I will blog pictures as I finish them. I haven't sewn for several days and I'm ready to get busy!!

P.S. Bella the Blanche is settling in very nicely! :-)

La Blanche

La Blanche
La Blanche,
originally uploaded by carriemepics.
My new beauty arrived today, Yay for me!! Actually she got here yesterday, but was insured, so when I wasn't home to sign for her, the poor baby had to spend the night at the post office. I have named her Bella.

Okay, for the record I still love my Blythes, but I must say that this girl is GORGEOUS!! So much more detail and more feminine. She will be so much fun to make clothing for, I can't wait to get started.

Now we await the arrival of Pullip #2 Eternia who I will name Jade. Hurry Jade!!

Oh Christmas trees.....

Well, I have been busy the past few days, Christmas party at school, Bunco party, crafting etc. I did get my vintage tree put up in my dining room, it is my favorite tree, no doubt. All vintage ornaments and framed pictures of my family who have passed on. I love the pictures the best. Whenever I put it up it's smiles and tears combined every time. Once it was done, I left the room only to return to see my real snow kitty getting comfortable underneath. She's such a smart girl...

Then in the kitchen I have a sweets tree, and atop the tree is a baker angel, and she even kinda looks like me!! I found her in the clearance rack at TJMaxx last year. She has wire whisks for wings! TOO cute. I have even better sweets ornaments this year thanks to my Mommie, who I think bought out Target and the Martha stuff at Kmart. Go Mommie!!!

I am presently working on another paper craft that I will show you later, and then tomorrow is fleece blanket day... I'm helping a friend do some blankets and I will sew one for her of fleece and flannel. We could only find Hannah Montana in flannel, yikes the Hannah Montana!!! She's coming here in Jan. so all the girls around here have gone cuckoo. This is when it's really nice to have a boy! :-)

Goodnight, breakfast with Santa at the club 8 am, we are sooo excited!!

Snow kitty

I made this little fleece kitty for my friend Cheri. She requested one of my mini plush, but she asked that I make it into a Christmas ornament. She now proudly hangs at the top of Cheri's tree.

By the Dozens!!

Well my annual cookie baking marathon started last night and finished up this morning. It included 40 dozen Neiman Marcus cookies. 8 dozen big bad chocolate mini muffins, and 8 dozen chocolate dipped oreos. Now they are all packed up and ready for delivery!! I am so happy to have that done, and after all that I don't want to look at another cookie, let alone EAT one so that is good too.

This afternoon I made a Christmas paper bag photo album at my friend Joey's house. It is the third one I have made this Christmas and I made it for myself, lucky girl...

Hope everyone had a good weekend and only 9 more days till Christmas!

Check it off the list..

Well, 9 Christmas packages have been sent!! And the lines at the post office were not out the door, another task off the list. I know I said I was done with Christmas sewing, but I did make my Rudolph bag today, a present to myself. A new design, so easy, I think I'll call it "easy pleasy". I am considering focusing solely on sewing this design, what do you think?

The misfit toy elephant has always been my fave, I even have an ornament on the tree. I think I need to make an elephant to live here with Rudolph and Clarice. Misfits need love too.

Hallelujah!

I think (fingers crossed) that I have finally finished all my Christmas sewing YAY! Now I can move on to crafting, baking, wrapping and shipping.
I do have some Rudolph fabric that I really want to make myself a bag, a new design, but I'm not sure if I will have time. It is the CUTEST fabric is has all the characters form Rudolph on it, even the misfit toys. LOVE that polkadot elephant, I would love to line it with polkadot fabric.

We saw Mr. Magorium's and just had to make some sock monkeys, I found these kits at Joann's and they were super simple, but there is a lot of hand sewing which was time consuming!!

I love Christmas!

This year I wanted a new tree topper, like a beautiful St. Nick with cream colored clothing and a mohair beard, you get the picture. So my son and I went shopping, and I found exactly what I had in mind. Well, my son spied a snowman head topper on the bottom shelf, and HAD to have it. I sadly obliged but you know I love it and he looks perfect on our tree!

I made this appliqued St. Nick about 12 years ago with one of Mom's patterns. That was my sun, moon, star phase. LOL But I do love him and hang him above the mantle every year, it's become one of the things I look forward to unpacking every year.
